In THE World University Rankings-2025, Anna University secured 401-500 Rank globally, and 2^nd place among the Indian Institutes. In QS World University Rankings-2025, Anna University secured 383^rd Rank globally, and 10^th place among the Indian Universities. In QS WUR-ASIA Rankings-2025, Anna University secured 177^th Rank in the Asia Region, and 30^th place among the Southern Asia. In QS WUR-Subject Rankings-2024, Anna University secured 429^th Rank globally, which is 10^th place among the Indian Universities (No.1 in State Universities). In QS WUR-Sustainability Rankings-2024, Anna University secured 496^th Rank globally, which is 9^th place among the Indian Universities. Anna University accredited by NAAC, "A++" Grade in 3^rd Cycle (with the validity of 7 Years, upto 20.08.2030). In NIRF India Rankings-2024, Anna University secured 1^st Rank in State Public Universities, 13^th Rank in University, 14^th Rank in Engineering, 17^th Rank in Research, and 20^th Rank in Over-All.

As per the guidelines of "National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)", the establishment of "Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)" is a mandatory requirement for all NAAC-accredited institutions. Recently, Anna University accredited by NAAC in the year 2023 with A++ grade (CGPA 3.54 out of 4). The IQAC of Anna University, since its inception (Since 30.10.2012), has been consistently and actively involved in quality sustainability and quality enhancement activities. It is a participative cell of the University that works on evolving strategies to remove deficiencies and enhance quality, thus channelizing the efforts of the University towards achieving holistic academic excellence.

The objectives of the IQAC are

To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the acedemic and administrative performance of the University.
To promote measures for the institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
